Farm to Table tickets go on sale Saturday
Tickets for the annual Farm-to-Table event go on sale Saturday.
The event is back following last year’s cancellation to allow the event’s founding organizer, Syndy Deese, to spend time with her family after a tragic accident.
The third annual Farm to Table dinner is at 6 p.m. July 20 at the Winchester-Clark County Farmers’ Market on Depot Street.
“This event has turned into a great community event,” Deese said.
The guest chef this year is Ouita Michel and her team. Michel is well-known for her support of the farmers and the KY Proud community, Deese said.
“She’s a very well-known chef in Kentucky,” Deese said.
Michel’s restaurants include Honeywood, Wallace Station, Windy Corner, Holly Hill Inn, Smithtown Seafood, Zims Cafe and The Midway Bakery and Cafe. Deese said Michel has always made locally grown ingredients a priority in her restaurants, and this evening will be no different.
This past year, Michel was also a guest judge on Top Chef Kentucky.
“She’s just well-known and respected,” Deese said. “She’s our famous personality in the food world in Kentucky.”
Tickets go on sale Saturday for $65 each at the farmers market on Depot Street. Deese said to be there at 8 a.m. to guarantee a spot at the table July 20. Cash or check is preferred, Deese said. Attendees must also be 21 years old or older.
Only 200 tickets are available.
All proceeds benefit the farmers market and their goal of building a permanent structure.
“The farmers work hard to make people in our community aware of what they have to offer each Saturday on Depot Street,” Deese said. “They put up pop up tents every Saturday and Tuesday afternoon, and there’s been a drive to help raise funds for a permanent structure.”
