Two Clark County parents were indicted for murder Thursday after their son died from malnutrition, dehydration and pneumonia in December.

Albert and Patsy Christy, of 340 Schoolhouse Lane, were arrested Feb. 26 after the Clark County Sheriff’s Office received the final autopsy report on Logan Christy

Logan Christy, according to the criminal complaint, had a number of medical issues including Down syndrome. EMS personnel were called to the Christys’ residence on Dec. 12, 2017, when Logan was unresponsive. He was transported to Clark Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Patsy Christy told investigators she fed Logan 13 minutes before she called 911, but the autopsy found nothing in Logan Christy’s stomach.

Clark County Sheriff Berl Perdue Jr. said previously Logan weighed about 61 pounds at the time of his death and had only been provided fluids from a sippy cup.

Detectives said Logan Christy’s room was “unsuitable for anyone to live in,” and Perdue said it was worse than the rest of the residence.

The report also said Logan Christy received state benefits until he turned 18, but his parents had not sought any assistance after that point.

The Christys appeared in Clark District Court Wednesday, where they waived their case to the grand jury. They are being held in the Clark County Detention Center on a $1 million bond.

The grand jury also indicted three people in connection with a Jan. 31 shooting in downtown Winchester.

Grmyko Chenault, 25, of Lexington, was indicted for first-degree assault and three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment for allegedly firing a handgun into a vehicle following a verbal altercation.

The other vehicle, which carried Temetrius Stewart and Armonty English, fled the scene before being in an accident on Lexington Avenue. Stewart was wounded during the shooting, but the injury was not life-threatening.

Witnesses said English took a gun from the vehicle and tried to hide it. The gun was later recovered by police.

English was indicted for tampering with physical evidence and receiving stolen property (firearm).

A third person, Alexssandra Chenault, was indicted for complicity to first-degree assault. Police said she drove the car with Grmyko Chenault to the scene of the shooting.

The grand jury also returned the following indictments Thursday.

— Christopher Reed, Audrey Stroube and Robert Harley, first-degree robbery (Reed and Stroube), receiving stolen property (Harley).

— Balinda Weathers, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (two counts), third-degree possession of a controlled substance, fraudulent use of ID card for benefits, possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree wanton endangerment.

— Benjamin Larson, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, driving on a suspended operator’s license.

— Benjamin Larson, custodial interference, first-degree persistent felony offender.

— Stacy Gail Schellig, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia.

— Kevin T. Campbell, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia.

— Kevin T. Campbell, third-degree burglary, fraudulent use of a credit card, second-degree persistent felony offender.

— Ryan W. Mayer, tampering with physical evidence, prohibited use of electronic communications system s to procure a minor to engage in sexual offense, use of a minor in a sexual performance.

— Alisha D. Brooks, first-degree fleeing or evading police.

— Joel D. Layne, trafficking in stolen identities, fraudulent use of ID card for benefits, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, second-degree persistent felony offender.

— Gregory J. Fugate, first-degree burglary, first-degree persistent felony offender.

— Mudanar Turley and James Cornelius, first-degree robbery.

— Paul D. Smith, receiving stolen property, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (two counts), third-degree possession of a controlled substance.

— Eric Anthony Gladson, theft by unlawful taking (auto).

— Charles E. Davis, first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy.

— Greshon L. Higgins, one headlight, first-degree fleeing or evading police, receiving stolen property, first-degree criminal mischief (two counts), leaving the scene of an accident, no operator’s license.
