Down the Lane: About our first lady
The U.S. has the most beautiful first lady in the White House we have ever had, yet the public never gets to see her.
Melania Trump is the most elegant first lady our country has ever had in my estimation.
We saw all the other presidents’ wives often — even one I got tired of looking at we saw her so often.
President Donald Trump’s wife has more credentials than many of the others have but the public would never get to be aware of it because the media will not show her.
Melania knows how blessed we are to live in the U.S. because she has lived outside our country. She was born in Slovenia and is now an American.
She is the second first lady who was born outside the U.S. but the only first lady to become a naturalized citizen.
The other president’s wife born outside the U.S. was Louisa Catherine Adams, John Quincy Adams’ wife. She did not even come to our country until four years after she married him.
Melania Trump understands what it is like to live in a socialist country and supports her husband in his endeavor in making America great again to prevent it from becoming like other countries.
Melania began working as a model at 16. At 26 she moved to New York. Within 10 years she became a U.S. citizen.
Something the public does not get to hear about are her many accomplishments. She has been awarded Woman of the Year in 2006 by the Police Athletic League. She has participated in several causes concerning children such as National Child Abuse Month. She was awarded the Goodwill Ambassador for the American Red Cross. She was chairwoman for the National Heart Association and countless other community awards where she has given back to the country she lives in.
She is intelligent and can speak five languages. I can only imagine what an asset that must be when she travels outside the U.S.
She has focused her main interest on children and often conducts tours with the children who visit the White House.
According to some reports, even when on tour to a foreign country, she tends to gravitate toward the children. She sat with a group of children in Japan and took a calligraphy class with them.
She launched an awareness campaign May 7 called Be Best. This campaign focuses on the wellbeing of children. This also includes the emotional health of children and the effect of drug abuse and the vulnerability it has on infants and their lives.
Melania makes surprise visits to children’s hospitals around the U.S. taking gifts to the children and giving words of encouragement.
She seems to be a genuine, warm and loving individual.
Melania is a mother to a son, Barron. She has the same maternal instincts most mothers have for their children and tries to let him lead as normal a life as possible. She has done really well in keeping him from the cameras. Her love for him is like any other mom who wants the best for their child while teaching him about life.
Melania has been involved in countless ways to improve her community. It is plain to see she works hard at whatever she gets involved in.
I am so proud of our first lady and would love to see more of her doing good for our country and around the world.
