Pursuit, stolen car case sent to grand jury

A woman accused of stealing a car while on a break from work and leading police on a pursuit through four counties waived her case to the grand jury.

Rose Crim, 22, is facing a number of charges from the Jan. 1 incident at the Winchester McDonald’s on Lexington Avenue.

Police said Crim was outside the restaurant on a break when a woman pulled up and left her keys and purse in the vehicle.

Witnesses said Crim got in the vehicle and drove away.

Clark County sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but it fled and went east on Interstate 64. The vehicle avoided spike strips at the Clark-Montgomery county line and continued east.

Police said the vehicle exited the interstate in Morehead but sideswiped another vehicle and returned to the highway.

Officers finally stopped the Chevrolet TrailBlazer near the Rowan-Carter county line, where officers boxed it in.

In Clark County, Crim was charged with speeding, driving on a suspended operator’s license, first-degree fleeing or evading police, theft by unlawful taking (auto) and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
