Walter Bennett “Benny” McCord, 68

Walter Bennett “Benny” McCord, 68, husband of Wanda Mays McCord, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at his home.

A native of Clark County, he was born on February 24, 1949, to the late Woodson and Christine Wilson McCord. He was retired from Rockwell and Dan’s Discount. He was presently employed at Clark County Sheriff’s Department, where he worked as a bailiff. Mr. McCord was a member of Fraternal Order of Police, U.A.W. Local 1537 and Calvary Christian Church. He was a United States Army Veteran of Vietnam War.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Todd (Kim) McCord, Amy (Dustin) Baker and Emily McCord; two step children, Kim (James) Miller and Pam (Jerry) Townsend; nine grandchildren, Spencer McCord, Andrew McCord, Abby McCord, Amanda Smith, Savannah Walters, Sophia Baker, Jacqueline (Kyle) Corley, Alisha Corley and Brandon (Charity) Miller; four siblings, B.C. (Margaret) McCord, Gary (Joyce) McCord, Jerry (Pat) McCord and Debbie (T.J.) Richards.

Services will be at 11:00AM, Monday, February 26, 2018, at Calvary Christian Church by Pastors Mike McCormick, Verne Mohr and Doug Christopher. Arrangements by Scobee Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Winchester Cemetery. Members of Clark County Sheriff’s Department will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00-7:00PM at Calvary Christian Church.
