GRC’s boys soccer sweeps weekend with two shutouts

George Rogers Clark boys soccer continues their hot start to the season with two more shutout victories this weekend.

Friday night, Mason County came to town to take on the Cardinals. GRC beat the Royals 4-0.

Freshman phenom Brandon Beltran led the way for GRC, scoring two goals and tacking on an assist.

Emidio Figueroa and Trevon Curtis each scored one goal and Tyree Brown had one assist.

Goalie Tayman Hayes recorded nine saves in his shutout.

GRC traveled to Southwestern Saturday and came home with another 4-0 victory.

Beltran got on the board again in this one, scoring one goal.

Skyler Hamon and Nathan Sidwell each scored one goal and Taylan Hayes had a goal and an assist.

Tayman Hayes had another shutout in this one, piling up seven saves.

The Cardinals boys soccer team will be back in action again tonight as they take on Boone County at 7:30 p.m. at the Cardinal Soccer Complex.

Boone County is coming off a 10-0 victory against Simon Kenton and is 1-0-1 so far this season.

The boys will have two more home games this week.

GRC takes on Corbin Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. and Conner at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are 2-0 this season.
