What’s Happening at the Library: Clark County photographs by Wes Moody on display
Don’t zip through the Clark County Public Library lobby the next time you come. On the right-hand side of the lobby, there’s an exhibit of photographs by Clark County photographer Wes Moody that will reward a close look.
August is Local History Month at the library. A piece of Clark County’s past and present that always deserves celebration is the beauty of its landscape. Wes Moody’s photographs bring that beauty into focus through all four seasons.
Each photo is a visual haiku, capturing a luminous moment with an image that identifies the season.
There’s a waterfall, a crimson, copper and gold sunset as Central Kentucky has magnificent sunsets.
There’s a striking contrast between a rushing stream and rocks clenched by old gnarled tree roots, the solid, austere presence of Old Stone Church in winter, the ethereal wonder of a serene rainbow beneath a tumultuous sky.
There’s sun-fired mist on a narrow country road with a mailbox to one side that makes you proud and happy to say yes, this is my home.
There’s also a picture of a donkey that will make you want to reach through the case glass to rub its nose.
It’s a splendid exhibit. It will remind you to enjoy the greatest assets any place on Earth can have, open space and vibrant nature.
Take a moment to appreciate the beauty of Clark County. Stop by to see Wes Moody’s photography display in the lobby.
