William J. Woosley, 95, widower of Mary Elizabeth Jones Woosley, passed away Friday, August 2, 2019 at UK Medical Center.

He was born in Clark Co. on April 25, 1924 to the late Jack and Nannie Jordan Woosley. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and he loved farming. He also worked at the VA as the Food Service Supervisor for 33 years. Mr. Woosley bravely served in the United States Army where he took part in D-Day and became a POW for 7 months in Germany. He later received the WWII Victory Medal.

He is survived by one son-in-law, Wayne Conner; two grandchildren, Rev. Gary (Ethelann) Conner, Heath Conner; three great grandchildren, Adam Conner, Joel (Megan) Conner, Amanda Conner; two great great grandchildren, Graham Conner, Ezra Conner; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years, parents, and one daughter Judy Conner; and seven siblings.

Funeral service will be 2:00PM Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Scobee Funeral Home by Dr. Todd Rader. Burial will follow in the Winchester Cemetery.

Visitation will be 12:00-2:00PM Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Scobee Funeral Home.
