Clark County fairs opens this weekend

This weekend, as is tradition, the Clark County Fair starts off on Sat., June 25th, and goes all the way through Sat., July 2nd.
Previously, it hasn’t been uncommon to see as many as 15,000 individuals show up in attendance.
All activities will take place at the Clark County Fair Grounds, located at 4980 Ironworks Road.
The event will start off on Saturday June 25th with a day full of both animal and human pageantry.
An 8 a.m. District Beef Show and 5 p.m. Fair Beef Show will let farmers and others from around the area show off cattle for a potential prize.
At 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 2 p.m., you can find Baby Pageant Div. A & B, the Duke & Duchess Pageant followed by the Price & Princess Pageant, and the Little Mr. & Miss Pageant respectively taking place.
On Sunday, June 26th, the Ms., Mrs. & Modern Miss Pageants will take place at 2 p.m. on a day in which the carnival will not be open.
Just one day later, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 27th, 4-H, FFA, & Home Economics entries will be received.With carnivals and other events taking place, Tuesday, June 28th offers an evening with much to discover.
From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m, the 4-H, FFA, Home Economic Exhibits open for others’ viewing.
Beginning at 6 p.m., a goat show broken into several categories will occur. Registration and weigh-in begins at 5:00 pm.
The Ag Hall of Fame provides a ceremony at 7 p.m., recognizing past winners.
The KOI Drag Race also takes place at 7 p.m., with the Miss Clark County Pageant occurring at 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday June 29th features an opportunity for you to ride all rides, while kids and adults can enjoy a Pedal Pull at 6 p.m. followed by the Old Fashion Fair Games.
Adding to its repertoire of activities involving furry friends, a Rabbit Show takes place at 6 p.m. as does Mutton Busting in which children can ride and race sheep.
At 7 p.m., both a Poultry Show and Horse Show will take place.
The event wraps up at 7:30 p.m. with the Miss Teen Clark County Pageant.
On Thursday, June 30th from 5-9 o.m., a 4-H, FFA, Home Economy Exhibit opens.
At 7 p.m. enjoy a Bluegrass Pony & Mule Pull. You’ll also be able to partake in an Open Youth Swine Show.
Enjoy the perks of a Miss Pre-Teen Clark Co. Pageant at 7:30 p.m.
On Friday, July 1st at 6:00 p.m. you can enjoy an Open Sheep Show.
At 7:00 p.m., the CGTPA Garden Tractor Pull will take place.
Finish the evening with a Sam L. Smith concert at 8 p.m., featuring a top-notch country recording artist.
End the week on Saturday, July 2nd.
From 9-11 a.m. the 4-H, Home Ec, and FFA entries pickup will take place.
The finale will be a 7 p.m. Power Wheels Derby/Demolition Derby.
Carnival rides can be enjoyed from Tuesday, June 28th through Saturday July 2nd. On Saturday, they will be extra.
Gate admission on Saturday, June 25th is $5, with $3 a person for the Head Beef Show.
Admission on Sunday, June 26th is also $5, with children aged 12 and under getting in for free.
There will be no specific events on Monday, June 27th; just a drop-off for the aforementioned activity.
Admission is $10 the rest of the week, from Tuesday, June 28th through Saturday, July 2nd.
