F1riday’s Supreme Court decision that nullified federally protected access to abortion services has sent a earthquake through the American citizenry that has not been felt in decades.
And with abortion services ceasing across the commonwealth here is a list of local or nearby clinics that offer legal pregnancy prevention services or pre-natal care.
The Clark County Health Department, located at 400 Professional Dr., in Winchester offers the following services:
• Reproductive health screenings, pelvic and breast exams
• Counseling on birth control methods and contraceptives
• Emergency contraceptives
• Pregnancy tests
• Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases and sexually transmitted infections
• HIV testing
• Health Education and counseling
“All services are confidential and HIV testing can be anonymous, if requested. The health department recognizes the benefit of these services. Staff treat each individual as a unique person with their own needs and questions. The Clark County Health Department is here to provide the educational resources to help you make choices that support your decision,” said Clark County Public Health Director Becky Kissick.
Said services are also affordable.
“Our services are offered on a sliding scale, with most individuals qualifying for free services,” Kissick said.
