Golf

VFW golf scramble tees off on May 18

The Winchester Veterans of Foreign Wars, (VFW) Post 2728 will have a golf scramble on May 18 at Cassell Creek Golf Course.

Registration will be at 8 a.m. and a shotgun start will be at 9 a.m.

The cost is $50 per player and $200 per team. After May 1, the cost will increase to $60 a player and $240 for a foursome. The rain date will be May 25.

Youth Fishing Day set for next month

The Clark County Fish and Game Club will have its annual Youth Fishing Day beginning at 9 a.m. on May 18 at the clubhouse on Waterworks Road.

The free event is for youth 15-and-under and beverages and lunch will be provided by the fish and game club.

Cheerleading

Tryouts at RDC set for May 8-10

The Robert D. Campbell Middle School will have a cheering tryout clinic 5-7 p.m. May 8-10 and the official tryouts will be at 5 p.m. on May 10 at the school.

The clinic and tryouts are open to all incoming 5th-8th-graders and participants must bring a sports physical. All participants will tryout in groups of two.
