Christy gets ‘exemplary’ evaluation from school board

The Clark County Board of Education acknowledged the annual superintendent evaluation report during Tuesday’s regular meeting.

According to the Superintendent Evaluation Summary Report, Superintendent Christy received a rating of “exemplary” in the areas of cultural leadership, managerial leadership and influential leadership.

The board rated Christy as accomplished in the following standards: strategic leadership, instructional leadership, human resource leadership and collaborative leadership.

The board also challenged Christy to meet with his cabinet and school administrators to establish “challenging and measurable goals.”

The board also approved a resolution with the  Kentucky Office of Homeland Security Project for vests for school resource officers.

In other action, the board:

— approved the 2019-20 final allocations to school councils

— approved second reading to the revision of policy 04.312 school activity funds

— approved second reading to the revision of policy 04.31 authority to encumber and expend funds

— approved capital funds request

—  reviewed the third quarter finances for the general fund

— approved pay application #16 to Codell Construction, contractors and suppliers for the GRC gymnasium and athletic fields project (BG 16-238) in the total amount of $845,791.98

— approved pay application #1514-28 to RossTarrant Architects, for the GRC gymnasium and athletic fields project (BG 16-238) in the amount of $9,328.23

— approved pay application #1829-07 to RossTarrant Architects, for the GRC field house and athletics project (BG 18-334) in the amount of $558.82

— approved pay application #2 to Codell/Contractors/Suppliers, for the GRC field house and athletics project (BG 18-334) in the amount of $148,804.34

— approved change order #19-12 to Rising Sun Developing, for the GGRC gymnasium and athletic fields project (BG 16-238) in the Amount of $9,924.50 .
