The churches of Winchester and Clark County will join together again for the annual cross walk and unity service.

The 2019 Good Friday Cross Walk and Unity Service, which the Winchester-Clark County Association of Churches sponsors, begins at 11:30 a.m. April 19 at Winchester Municipal Utilities, 150 N. Main St.

Participants should meet at the WMU parking lot before 11:30 a.m.

The group will walk from the parking lot carrying the cross as a remembrance of Jesus carrying the cross through the streets of Jerusalem on the way to His crucifixion.

The walk will take participants to the service, which begins at noon at First Christian Church, 24 E. Hickman St. During the service, the church will collect offerings for the transient ministry program of Clark County Community Services.

Pastor Allan Hutchinson of First Church of God will present the  sermon.

A light lunch will follow the service.
