CRMC hosts annual Breast Cancer Awareness luncheon

Clark Regional Medical Center hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness Month luncheon Wednesday.

Tamila Humphries, CRMC outpatient imaging supervisor, gave a presentation about the benefits of 3d mammography and the importance of early screening detection.

Humphries said a mammogram is a simple, routine screening that helps detect breast cancer.

According to the American Cancer Society, women should have the choice to start screening with yearly mammograms as early as age 40.

Dr. Stephen Anderson, an oncologist at CRMC, was also at the luncheon to answer additional questions. CRMC also gave away special prizes to some participants.
