Recovery, wellness center opens Winchester site
The New Leaf Recovery and Wellness Center celebrated its new Winchester site with a ribbon cutting Tuesday.
Leah Sears, licensed clinical social worker and co-owner of the center, said New Leaf offers services for adolescents and adults who struggle with drug and drug misuse, addiction, trauma, depression, anxiety and more.
“We realized there was a specific need here in this community,” Sears said.
The center is at 1129 W. Lexington Ave., and appointments can be made online or by calling 859-771-5766.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays.
Shannon Tipton, alcohol and drug counselor and co-owner of the center, said she wanted to come back to her hometown and give back.
Together, the pair hopes to change lives.
“We try to take care of the mind, body, spirit approach because every aspect of that is important,” Sears said.
Tipton said she has already talked to several organizations in the community and hopes to partner with their efforts as well.
The center offers day and evening appointments for the following services: outpatient and intensive outpatient, individual counseling, group counseling and DUI services.
Sears said the primary goal of the center is to simply be there for people.
“We’ve all had one person, one person that was there for us,” she said. “And so that’s something we want to do.”
