Jones helps Sleep Outfitters celebrate new Winchester store

Sleep Outfitters celebrated the official grand opening of its new Winchester location at 1140 Bypass Road Friday.

The new location is next door to its previous space, but the new building offers more room to expand which is what the business needed to grow, Debbie Green, director of media and events for Sleep Outfitters, said.

“We just wanted to have a little bit more visibility,” she said. “We wanted to have a little larger space.”

Green said it was also a way to announce its partnership with the University of Kentucky athletics program.

“We’re the official sleep provider of UK athletics, and John Calipari officially endorsed us,” she said.

Matt Jones and Drew Franklin from Kentucky Sports Radio hosted the event and did their show live on-air from the new location. People from Winchester, Richmond, Lexington and more traveled to Sleep Outfitters Friday to listen to the show.

Sleep Outfitters has been in Winchester for several years, Green said.

“We were next door, and we moved over here about five months ago,” she said.

Sleep Outfitters was also giving away pillows.

“The community of Winchester and Clark County have been good to us over the years, and we just have been helping hundreds of people sleep better,” Green said.

Green said she hopes people visit the new location and come to the Memorial Day sale later this month.

“The most differentiated thing about Sleep Outfitters is that we care about your sleep,” she said. “We focus on sleep. We don’t focus so much on the mattress, and we focus on fitting you with the right bed for you. So it’s a custom sleep assessment, we ask you questions about how you sleep. We try to make it very personalized in that way. It’s not just loading a mattress on top of your truck and going home. You’re getting the right one for you.”
