Dr. Eugene Louis Snowden, Sr., 95, passed away on Tuesday, March 06, 2018 at his home.

A native of Clark County, KY, he was born on September 24, 1922, to the late Goebel Lewis and Stella Mae Hopper Snowden. He practiced medicine in Clark County for more than 50 years. Along with being a well-known local physician, Eugene was also a real estate developer and enjoyed studying and investing in the stock market. He was a veteran of the United States Army and Air Force, where he served as a flight surgeon. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, an avid golfer and enjoyed playing bridge with his friends at the Country Club.

In addition to his loving wife of 71 years, he is survived by five children, Wanda (Dr. Billy) Ballard, Gene (Christie) Snowden, Jr., Dr. Ronnie (Paulette) Snowden, Rene (Charlie) Warren and Jeff Snowden; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, Dr. Josh (Melissa) Ballard and their children, Eli and Ruby, Clay (Jessica) Ballard, Gene (Mary K.) Snowden III and their children, Luke and Hadley, Stacy (Mike) Kreis and their children, Carson and Mackenzie, Ronnie (Sarah Jane) Snowden, Jr., and their children, Oliver and Crosby, Brooke Snowden, Cassie (fiancé E. Armea) Warren and Dr. Chaz (Dr. Kelly) Warren ; two sisters, Nell Orme and Helen Hannah. He also leaves behind a very close extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and three brothers-in-law, Irene (Malcolm) Estes, Geneva (Porter) Robert and Bill Orme.

Services will be at 1:00PM, Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Scobee Funeral Home by Dr. Ed Mesta. Burial will be in Winchester Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gene Snowden III, Mike Kreis, Ronnie Snowden, Jr., Dr. Josh Ballard, Clay Ballard and Dr. Chaz Warren.

Family will receive friends from 10:00AM until time of services.
