Mountain Parkway project starting Wednesday
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways, announced work will begin Wednesday, for the Mountain Parkway rehabilitation project.
The location for the project will begin at Interstate 64 and continue to the Stoner Ephesus overpass at mile-point 5.311.
The Allen Company Inc. was awarded the project for $5,168,187.32. The anticipated completion date for the rehabilitation is Sept. 15.
The project will include bridge repairs, asphalt rehabilitation and the replacement of right-of way fencing. The rehabilitation will enhance the ride of the pavement and increase the life of the road through repairs.
The traveling public will be informed of impacts to traffic through advisories furnished to media outlets.
Overweight and over-dimensional vehicles will be detoured along Kentucky 15/Iron Works Road and Kentucky 1958/Veteran’s Memorial Parkway in Clark County to Exit 10 on the Mountain Parkway in Powell County.
