Samuel Morton “S.M” Anderson Jr., 84

Samuel Morton “S.M” Anderson, Jr., 84, widower of Judith Johnson Anderson, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at University of Kentucky Medical Center.

A native of Clark County, he was born on September 17, 1934, to the late Samuel Morton Anderson, Sr. and Etta D. Jefferson Anderson. He was a lifelong farmer, a former Mason and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mr. Anderson was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of Kentucky Beef Cattle Association, Southern States and Kentucky Farm Bureau, where he previously served as president.

Survivors include two daughters, Tamora Anderson (Foster) Bartlett and Latonia Anderson (Doug) Chanslor; two grandchildren, Alexis Chanslor (Justin) Spry and Caleb Chanslor; one great granddaughter, Addison Spry; three sisters, Eunice Yarber, Gayle Crowe and Claudine Billings; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2:00PM, Monday, March 4, 2019 at Scobee Funeral Home by Pastors Roy Jackson and Tammy Smith. Burial will be in Clarmont Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Doug Chanslor, Caleb Chanslor, Justin Spry, Foster Bartlett, Mark Case, Wes Morton, Ronnie Parido and Andy Strange. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Morris, Carl Ashcraft, David King, Frankie Davis, David Fry and friends and workers from Hardees.

Visitation will be from 1:00PM until time of service on Monday.
