Sip & Stroll, Rock the Block return tonight
It’s time to wine, dine, stroll and shop downtown Friday.
The annual Sip & Stroll featuring Kentucky Wineries hosted by downtown businesses begins today at 5 p.m.
Attendees can visit participating businesses for tastings, specials and sales downtown from 5 to 9 p.m. on Main Street. Main Street Winchester Director Rachel Alexander said each winery sets a price for tastings, which is generally $1 or $2.
“It’s going to be really fun,” Alexander said.
She said Anne Baldwin of Court Street Gifts spearheaded the efforts on organizing the event this year. About seven wineries are participating in the event this year, and other vendors are making appearances as well.
Mason on Main, 70 S. Main St., will host Purple Toad Wineries, R & K Leather and Bling and Take Two Vintage Jewelry.
Magenta Moon, 28 N. Main St., will be open for Sip & Stroll. Weird Owlz Vintage is merging with Magenta Moon and Artlandish Art and Craft Studio, according to the business’s Facebook page, and the owners invited everyone to come meet them during the event.
Staton Ridge Farm will have food, and their infamous Bloody Marys, outside of Court Street Gifts.
Attendees can stop by Rock the Block, which is sponsored by Kentucky Bank, at 7 p.m. on the courthouse steps to see Boogie G and the Titanics.
“Boogie G and the Titanics are always high energy and fun,” Alexander said.
Attendees can also join in Winchester Youth Soccer League’s street soccer game on South Main or check out the car show on North Main.
“The weather is going to be really nice,” Alexander said. “It will be a beautiful evening.”
Children can also take part in the bounce house, provided for free by Community Trust Bank, as well as face painting and more around the courthouse during the event.
“You will definitely find something to do while you’re down here,” Alexander said.
