City of Winchester announces paving work

The City of Winchester recently released its fall paving list.

Work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Sept. 25, and continue through Oct. 9, weather permitting.

The Winchester Board of Commissioners approved the project list in August and authorized $260,000 to be spent for the work.

Originally, the project was to cost nearly $323,000, but three streets were removed from the list, the cost of paving Woodland Avenue was shared with Winchester Municipal Utilities and Fortune Drive will receive a 1.5-inch surface instead of the original 2-inch surface.

The city, though, reserved the right to add or remove streets.

The work will be performed by the Allen Company.

Those scheduled to be paved this fall are:

— Fortune Drive

— East Broadway Street from CSX Railroad right-of-way to Ashland Avenue

— Buckner Street

— Woodland Drive

— Second Street

— Meadowbrook Drive

— Huls Avenue

— Crossbrook Lane from Colby Ridge Boulevard to cul-de-sac

— Crossbrook Court

— Ascot Avenue

— Ascot Circle

— Hanover Drive from Crossbrook Lane to 305 Hanover Drive

— Powe Drive

— Cedar Drive from Powe Drive to seam at 205 Cedar Drive

— Woodbine Drive

— Al Fan Court
